Evaluates the quality of health care rendered by the System for the purpose of Peer Review pursuant to 63 P.S. ยง425.1 et seq. and/or the Medicare Act, as directed by, and as a member of the System's Performance Improvement Department, a Peer Review Subcommittee of the Geisinger Health System, by evaluating the quality of services ordered or performed by the System's professional healthcare providers including practice analysis, inpatient hospital and extended care facility utilization reviews, medical audits, ambulatory care reviews, claims reviews, and the compliance of Medicine Departments, with the standards set by associations of healthcare providers and with applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Responsible for coordinating and supporting Performance Improvement activities and identifying ongoing data and information system needs as part of the System's Peer Review process. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes a team concept and reflects the goal of providing seamless support for patients.

Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care, patient satisfaction, Performance Improvement and successful JCAHO and DOH surveys.

Part of the onsite Performance Improvement Division of Medicine. In addition, the Coordinator, Performance Improvement, manages and coordinates inpatient and outpatient Performance Improvement activities, with the medical staff and ambulatory care personnel for Division of Medicine.

Reports to the Regional Director, Quality and Safety.


Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Demonstrated familiarity with Performance Improvement principles and processes.

Demonstrated knowledge of Performance Improvement activities.


Current Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania or eligibility required; graduated from an approved school of nursing required.

Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required; master's degree preferred.

Minimum of five years of Nursing practice experience in an acute care hospital required; performance improvement experience preferred.


Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
