Support the production of continuous high quality sellable products, by providing leadership and direction for all maintenance activities. Maintain optimum performance of PM programs, work order program, and departmental scheduling of man-power. Ensure timely modification and/or repair of all equipment to facilitate optimum utilization of assets and plant productivity. Supervise mechanics for upkeep, set-up, changeovers and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems plant wide. Update machinery, equipment and maintenance work order files. Train new mechanics. Provide leadership to department employees to ensure compliance with OSHA, HAZMAT, GMP's, plant safety rules and company policies. Assist maintenance manager in planning of capital projects, and special projects. Schedule, document and track man-power utilization, overtime and vacations of maintenance employees. Coordinate maintenance employees during plant and production equipment emergencies on off shifts and weekends. Initiate disciplinary action when necessary within department. Resolve employee relation issues fairly and in a timely manor within the guidelines of company policies. Assist QC and Production managers in maintaining quality products and packaging.
Position Requirements5 years maintenance experience in high speed food manufacturing. 2 years technical training in trade school emphasizing electro-mechanics, or high school diploma and equivalent work experience. Associate degree in mechanical engineering preferred. Mechanical background and knowledge in general maintenance, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam and refrigeration. Good computer skills in up-to-date software for reports, data tracking and technical documentation. Good communication and supervisory skills.
